Mission

The mission of the Christian Faculty Leadership Network is to find, motivate, equip, network and support a cadre of professors who have a vision to:

  • raise the visibility of the Christian faculty community on campus
  • restore the Christian worldview and the pursuit of truth that it fosters to a place of prominence in the university
  • engage the university community with love and intellectual integrity, encouraging them to consider and embrace the truth of Jesus Christ

Having counted the cost, CFLN members believe themselves to be called by God to give leadership to this cause in the academy.

Vision

Our vision is that the Christian Faculty Leadership Network would include professors from every campus and every discipline in the U.S. These representatives would be men and women whom God has called to use their gifts and abilities for His glory in academia. CFLN members will represent one or more of three categories of leadership and service:

  • lending spiritual leadership to their local Christian faculty ministry,
  • actively integrating their faith with their research and scholarship, or
  • making themselves available as speakers for campus events both in the U.S. and internationally

CFLN members will also seek to mentor others in these areas.

The CFLN connects like-minded Christian faculty who are committed to seeing professors become spiritual “lights on a hill” called academia (Matthew 5:14). These “lights,” in turn guide Christian and non-Christian students alike through the spiritual storm that they experience during their college years. The network members will help to:

  • expand Christian community
  • foster academic integration and
  • engage the university community in intellectual discussion about the claims of Christ and His truth.

Through:

  • annual conferences
  • Internet collaboration
  • a monthly newsletter and
  • regular phone contact with each other and CLM field staff

The network provides:

  • a venue for expanding our collective vision
  • encouraging each other and
  • exchanging strategic ideas on how to see our vision become a reality

Benefits:

  • Becoming a part of a vibrant community of like-minded Christian faculty leaders from around the world
  • Participating in formulating the global (and local or discipline-specific) strategy to return Christian truth to the university, and give leadership in implementing the strategy on your local campus, and/or throughout your discipline nationally and internationally
  • Maintaining regular phone and email contact with like-minded faculty from around the country and with CLM staff
  • Receiving monthly newsletters focusing on leadership issues
  • Attending an annual conference for network members that will be carefully designed to address issues to help us all be more effective in fulfilling our calling, with tracks for local campus leaders, speakers, and academic integrators
  • Being encouraged through a collaborative environments
  • Receiving prayer support
