Ralph Cooley

Connie Cooley

Personal
Information

Ralph and Connie Cooley have served with the Campus Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ thirty-one and thirty-two years respectively. Thirty of those years have been lived in Moscow, home of the University of Idaho. Ralph assumed the responsibility of Campus Director the spring of 1981, and was privileged to work with more than forty staff and interns during his twenty-five year tenure. Called by God to shift his focus from direct student ministry to ministry with faculty, Ralph passed the directorship to Kirk Brower in May, 2007.
All three Cooley children were born in Moscow and attended the University of Idaho. Nathan (27) is on staff with CCC at Oregon State University. He married Julie Smith February 23,2008 and will return to OSU with his bride in the fall. Joanna (24) and Aaron Elder were married in May, 2006. Two months later, they were in South Korea teaching English and assisting with English worship services in two churches. They returned home last September. Both are working in nearby Pullman, prayerfully considering future full-time ministry. Angela (21) will graduate on May 10, and marry Alexander Frank on May 17. They met at bible school in Austria in 2005. Last August, Alex left his home in Germany to intern with CCC at UI. He hopes to attend Portland's Multnomah School of the Bible next term in preparation for a lifetime of ministry.
Ralph and Connie attribute their children's passion for ministry to the positive international experiences they have shared as a family. The first was the 1993 Osaka, Japan Summer Project which Ralph directed. He has served as Osaka Summer Project Director and/or Partnership Coordinator all but three years since then.
This 2007-2008 academic year has been one of transition. Ralph has spent about 50% of his time traveling: to Tokyo to discuss our GNW Regional partnership with Japan; to Calgary, central Washington, and to Montana to speak at various retreats; to San Antonio to assist with the Summer Project Director's Training; and to campuses in the Greater Northwest to encourage staff. There are a few more trips in the making, including one to Washington, D. C. for the National Faculty Commons Conference.

"We are so very grateful to our Lord and Savior for the opportunity to serve Him and to trust Him to reach every student/faculty with His Gospel."
