Serving: University of Pennsylvania, Virginia Tech, James Madison University and universities in eastern Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware
Knowing that professors are "gate-keepers" and that "ideas have consequences," Dave seeks to encourage faculty in their own spiritual formation and in the integration of their Christian faith with their discipline and professional life. Several means of accomplishing this are weekly Faculty Forum meetings, personal mentoring, and campus-wide Veritas Forums and guest lectures. Janet serves CLM staff around the country as our Staff Care Coordinator, ministering to and encouraging our staff as they face major life challenges, especially with their children and parents.
After 19 years of Campus Crusade ministry to college students and pastors, Dave and Janet joined the CLM staff in 1990, at which time Dave launched Christian Leadership's faculty ministry at the University of Pennsylvania and other Philadelphia colleges. In 1995 Dave helped organize the Christian Faculty Fellowship at his alma mater, Virginia Tech, then again at James Madison University in 2000 when their daughter was a freshman there.
Dave has taken Christian professors to minister to academics in post-communist Bulgaria four times since 1993. The DeHuffs' other cross-cultural experience was planting a CCC student ministry, from 1977-1981, at the third-largest historically black university in the in the U.S.--Jackson State University in Mississippi.
The DeHuffs have 3 grown daughters who majored in Studio Art, Speech Communications, and Fashion Design--graduating from colleges in Pennsylvania, Virginia and New York City, respectively. In his free time, Dave enjoys lake kayaking, guitar, classical music, and reading about history, art, and other cultures. Janet enjoys gardening, antiquing and watching golf in her spare time. They live in the western suburbs of Philadelphia.
