Steve and Wanda have been working with FC since 2000, seeking to restore the plausibility of the gospel and the prominence of the Christian worldview in the academic marketplace of ideas. Their local responsibilities include presenting the gospel to non-believing faculty, discipling Christian faculty in how to integrate the Christian worldview with their respective academic disciplines, identifying and mentoring Christian Ph.D. students whom God has called to the academy as future professors, and providing instruction in Christian thought to the ongoing Christian community at the University of California , San Diego.

Steve and Wanda joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ to work with college students. In 1991, they left the Campus Ministry to pursue studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School . After graduation, they took an international assignment with CCC in Kazakhstan .

They have two children: a middle school age daughter, and an elementary school age son who was born with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Although his disability places limitations on their lives, they're committed to having fun as a family and find this easy to do in San Diego . Their daughter enjoys riding horses and their son loves swimming. All are avid readers.
