Bill and Jan have worked with FC since 1993 as coordinators of the faculty ministry at the University of Georgia. This ministry, known as the Christian Faculty Forum has about 140 involved faculty, including an active steering committee. They sponsor regular meetings for faculty, two newspaper ads per year, two listservs for Christian faculty, an outreach to new faculty each year, an intensive faculty discipleship training program, and an annual Outstanding Christian Faculty Lecture.
For the past three years, the Hagers have also given leadership to FC staff and the faculty ministries in the eight state southeast region of the United States. Currently there are 11 FC-related faculty ministries in the region with several more in the process of getting organized. The goal is to have active and effective faculty ministries on all 25 Research I Universities in the region by 2006.
Bill began his career with Campus Crusade at Mississippi State University before serving as the campus director of the student ministries at Louisiana Tech and the University of Georgia. Prior to joining FC, Jan was in the CCC Campus Ministry and served as the associate campus director at Louisiana Tech, as well as senior staff member at the University of Georgia.
In her free time, Jan enjoys reading novels, sewing, teaching conversational English to internationals, and telling Bill how to rearrange the furniture. Bill's passions include basketball, duck hunting, fishing, golf, writing, gardening, and Georgia Bulldog football. The Hagers live in Athens, Georgia with two of their four children—the other two are away in college.
