Information

 

Dr. Joseph McRae Mellichamp is Emeritus Professor of Management Science in the Manderson Graduate School of Business at the University of Alabama where he served as a faculty member from 1969-1994. During these years Rae and his wife Peggy founded the Christian Faculty Fellowship at the University of Alabama and directed the group for twenty years; they also served as Associate Staff members of CCC there. When Rae retired, he and Peggy joined the full-time staff of FC as Faculty Representatives and as co-directors of FC’s Christian Faculty Leadership Network, with John and Pat Walkup.

 

To provide practical help and ministry tools for faculty, Rae wrote Ministering in the Secular University: A Guide for Christian Professors and Staff based on his own and other Christian professors’ experiences in the university. He edited a discipleship tool for professors What is a Christian Professor? A Model of Maturity and Ministry.  He has written numerous other helpful materials for FC ministry use.

 

Rae and Peggy have spoken both professionally and from a ministry perspective to faculty, faculty wives, and student groups on nearly 200 campuses in the U.S. and a dozen foreign countries.

 

They moved to Duluth , Georgia in 1995 to be near family and the Atlanta Airport . They have two grown children and a precious granddaughter.

Rae: Ph.D., Engineering Management, Clemson University; Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, Georgia Tech.

Peggy: B.S., English Education, Clemson University.

     

Favorite book

 

Rae: The Training of the Twelve by A. B. Bruce.

Peggy: Any by Agatha Christie, read every title.

     

Claim to fame

 

Rae: Alter ego is Bubba Bamboozle.

Peggy: Enjoys clogging with her husband.
