Personal
Information

Though Jack and Diane are some of FC’s newest staff members, joining in June of 2006, they are not new to ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ. They have been on staff since 1972, and served for 26 years in CCC’s ministry to Eastern Europe and Russia. Having recently moved to Birmingham, Alabama, they hope to encourage professors throughout the state to walk closely with God while helping them take advantage of their unique opportunities to impact students and colleagues for Christ.

Both Jack and Diane grew up in the southeast: Jack in Montgomery, Alabama, and Diane near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jack graduated from Auburn University in December of 1971 while Diane graduated from the University of Georgia in May of 1972. Upon graduation both joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ: Jack went to Austin, Texas, with the Campus Ministry and Diane went to Knoxville, Tennessee, with the High School Ministry (now known as Student Venture). In the fall of 1973, Diane was reassigned to Austin where they met. They were married in May of 1976, and gave direction to the campus ministry at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, until the summer of 1979.

In 1977, while participating on a summer project in Poland, they woke up to the needs of the world and both felt a new call on their lives: to help reach Eastern Europe for Christ. In January of 1980, they moved to Vienna, Austria, and served on the Travel Team. In 1983, they moved to England where they helped give supervision to Summer Projects and STINT (Short Term Projects) in Eastern Europe. Soon after the “fall of the wall,” they moved to Prague where Jack served as the National Director for Campus Crusade for Christ in Czechoslovakia. In the summer of 1994, they moved to Budapest, Hungary, and began working at the Campus Crusade Area Headquarters for Eastern Europe and Russia. They continued to give direction to both the Czech Republic and Slovakia until National Directors could be found - while giving supervision to the STINT program on an area-wide level. From 1995 to 2006, Jack assisted the Director of Affairs as his Chief of Staff.

They have four wonderful adult children. Their eldest son is a graduate of Auburn University and is currently serving on staff with Campus Crusade as a teacher at the International Christian School of Budapest and as the Youth Pastor at Danube International Church. Another son (also a graduate of Auburn) is serving as a 1st Lt in the Army with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Bamberg, Germany. Their third child (yet another graduate of Auburn!) is a daughter serving a second year in Russia with The Caucasus Cross-Cultural Foundation. Their youngest daughter is finishing her senior year at the University of Mobile with a major in Theater.

Claim to fame

Jack: At various times Jack coached all four of his children in Basketball. One of his great joys was serving as Assistant Coach to his son, Jonathan, who was at that time ICSB’s Head Basketball Coach. Perhaps his greatest claim to fame is that he is an identical twin.

Diane: Diane’s interest in decorating and old pine furniture landed their home in a Hungarian magazine – in a feature article covering 8 pages.
